Mary Kenney, a former vice-director of narrative at Insomniac Games, has announced that she will be joining CDPR as a senior writer. This decision has caused concern among many gamers.
Kenney is known to be a supporter of Sweet Baby Inc., and she has been actively defending the company on Twitter for quite some time now. In fact, she tweeted about it for 12 consecutive times, stating that "some people seem to not understand how game storytelling consulting works," but she assured everyone that they should not worry because she knows all about it.
Recently, during an interview with Dual Shockers in May, Kenney expressed her belief that the gaming industry needs to do everything in its power to promote LGBTQ+ agenda: "According to GLAADs report, gaming is a social activity for the LGBTQ community. However, it also reveals a heartbreaking fact - LGBTQ players feel like developers dont consider them while designing their games."
"Many LGBTQ developers exist today who want what we want - to create an experience where players feel like theyre valued, Kenney continued. We need to utilize every tool possible in order to achieve this goal."
Despite Kenneys new role at CDPR，players have expressed strong opposition towards her appointment. The comment section of CDPRs official platform is filled with complaints from users who are not happy about her inclusion in the team."Your next game will fail miserably,” one user wrote. “Dont give in to Sweet Baby Inc.! Your reputation is on the line here.”Another user added,"Goodbye CDPR – another company suicide!"
